SWS Board Technology is a Fair Trade Certified factory; the first in the UAE. To achieve this certification, SWS underwent an audit to demonstrate adherence to over 100+ compliance criteria, covering social responsibility, environmental responsibility, employee empowerment, and economic development. In support of this certification, our partner brands can contribute to a community development fund dedicated to the welfare of SWS’s factory employees with every product purchase.
To ensure compliance with the social accountability requirements, we periodically conduct Social Accountability Audits. The Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (Sedex) is one of the world’s leading ethical trade membership organisation for businesses committed to the continuous improvement of ethical performance within their supply chains. SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) is the audit methodology created by the Sedex membership to give a centrally agreed audit protocol that can be confidently shared. The Sedex SAQ consists of the following key pillars that take into account legal requirements, international standards and good practice:

Protect Our Winters is a climate change organization founded by Jeremy Jones in 2007. The mission of POW is to engage and mobilize the winter sports community to lead the fight against climate change. POW is the environmental center point of this global community and unites brands, athletes and communities towards a common goal of reducing climate change’s effects on our sports and local economies. The collective power of the winter sports community is massive and POW helps organize the effort to step up and take responsibility to save a season that fuels our passions and provides jobs and economic vitality to mountain regions. SWS is proud to contribute towards POW’s initiatives.
SWS is a proud advocate of Pirates Surf. This local beach-based community program for international children and teenagers aims to holistically create the next generation of good, moral, hardworking athletes, whilst inspiring a sense of social and environmental responsibility.
We share a strong belief in the power of community, and that children are the living messages to a time we will not see. Being able to educate and integrate philanthropy, charitable initiatives, mentorship programs, wildlife and environmental conservation initiatives to the future generation is the best gift we can give to this world, and to the children of tomorrow.
Surf House Dubai is one of the original and longest-running surf schools in the UAE, with a strong sense of responsibility for the environment, protecting the only public surfing beach in Dubai. SWS is a proud partner of regular joint community events that raise awareness about the actions everyone can take to maintain our healthy planet and to protect the outdoor sports playgrounds we care so much about.
